CURRICULUM STATEMENT

Little Rays of Hope Preschool believes that children learn best in an atmosphere that promotes play as the primary mode of learning.

Our staff receives continued professional development in the early childhood field and brings that knowledge into the classroom to better our program. We are committed to providing each child with stimulating daily experiences presented in a fun and developmentally appropriate environment. We set up the environment to promote opportunities to explore, experiment and make choices. A multitude of materials will be available to the children for use as free choice activity or to enhance teacher initiated activities. Through play, encouragement, choices, experimentation, and exploration we stimulate children’s social and emotional development in every aspect possible. Activities are designed to take children through each of the levels of learning: initial exploration, hands on activities and eventually mastery of the skill. The curriculum consists of six developmental areas: math, language, practical life, physical and motor development, sensorial and cultural studies. Every aspect of our curriculum is carefully planned to increase children’s social and emotional well-being and reflect the mission of the program as a whole.
